We’re here today featuring another arangetram that we shot. The student is Iswarya, disciple of Vasu Master, and her arangetram was performed in the Armenian Youth Centre in Toronto. It was an eventful night filled with intricate movements and hand gestures. An interesting piece was the Mayur Alarippu using the hand mudra Mauyram (as indicated in the dance’s title) to depict a dance of a peacock. This dance was stunningly enhanced by Iswarya’s beautiful, rich costume (note the feather detailing along the side and the centre).
